Today I learnt lots of new things for dealing with data. It was a very enjoyable day as I love using spread sheets and analysing data. Todays learning also reminded me of many things I learnt a while ago but had forgotten and some faster ways of doing things I often use like using filters in google spreadsheets and resizing columns by highlighting them all and dragging.
I expanded further on my knowledge about the create stage of learning with Manaiakalani and how it is cyclical as well as how important it is for students to get to finish their tasks and to come back and discuss the feedback or or previous sharing later on in a unit or term.
I look forward to finding an interesting way to integrate using MyMaps with my year 2-3 learners and creating some quizzes that I can use as an assessment of background knowledge and prior understandings.
Here is a MyMap that I created with two layers. One shows our DFI cohorts best places to visit around the world. The second is most of the places that I visited on my honeymoon in 2017.

Your MyMap with layers for DFI cohorts and your honeymoon is a fantastic way to visualise connections. Integrating MyMaps with your Year 2-3 learners is a brilliant idea—creating quizzes to assess background knowledge will make the learning so visible and engaging for them. To be even more helpful, if you are looking for faster ways to manage data in Sheets, you might enjoy using the “Ctrl + Enter” shortcut to fill a selected range of cells with the same data all at once!
